I live in a state where it’s been illegal for hiring managers to inquire about your current salary for a while, but I’m sorry to say that hasn’t stopped it from happening in literally every interview I’ve had since that law went into effect in 2017.

I went off, told her she was irresponsible, that my neighbor would not know about special diet, to clean the litter trays, etc. I gave it a week to let her calm down and texted again (very politely) with the cost of replacing keys and my bank account details. This is on the job application itself, by the by, not in an interview.
