However, there are coffee shops in all of our office buildings – actual branches of good local coffee shops that are only accessible by employees. She is now getting into monthly disagreements with coworkers who she feels should not take food if they did not pay for it.

I leave the office every day to jog during my lunch break. I am required by my office to take an hour lunch, at a designated time slot specified by the office manager. I was in my jogging gear for 10 minutes in the office before I left the building. And it is an unpaid hour.
