D ear Psychiatrist: I first met you 30 years ago and I want to let you know how I am doing. Today I was the proud mother at my youngest son’s wedding — but if I had believed you I wouldn’t have been there. Two weeks ago I celebrated with my daughter when she received her master’s degree — but if I had believed you I wouldn’t have been there. A few months ago I celebrated my grandson’s first birthday — but if I had believed you I wouldn’t have been there.
